The Best Hotel Bars in NYC

The city that never sleeps has something to offer everybody, whether you are a tourist not looking to leave your hotel, a 9-to-5 worker looking to unwind after a hard day at the office, or a student looking to party the night away after finals. These top hotel bars offer all of that and much more, so put your best foot forward and enter the doors of royal hospitality.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: The Boom Boom Room @ The Standard Hotel
848 Washington Street
New York, NY 10014
The Standard Hotel's Boom Boom Room has got that, "Boom Boom Pow!" If you are looking for music that will make your hips shake and a setting that will make your eyes pop, then head over to The Boom Boom Room. But be warned: this hotel lounge is one of the toughest doors in New York City. If you aren't famous, make friends with someone who is (or at least someone who works there) before attempting to get in.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: Press Lounge @ Ink48 Hotel
653 Eleventh Avenue
New York, NY 10036
Unwinding after a hard day has never seemed so classy. The Ink48 Hotel in Hell's Kitchen offers rooftop ecstasy for those looking to enjoy drinking, socializing and relaxation under the moon and stars. While the outdoor area provides the perfect ambiance for summer nights out, the indoor lounge, enclosed by clear, glass walls, makes this place accessible year round.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: CV @ Rivington Hotel
105 Rivington Street
New York, NY 10002
CV (the roman numeral for 105) was named for its 105-person capacity--a size big enough to generate a wild party and small enough to make you feel like a VIP. Located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, this mini-club is the perfect place for drinking, dancing, and the occasional celebrity sighting.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: The Ballroom @ The Jane
113 Jane Street
New York, NY 10014
Be a part of a scene mixed with Mad Men and Gossip Girls at the ballroom which draws nightlife mayhem, models, and the young in-the-know crowd nightly. Dress to impress or be in the know because they don’t let just anyone through these doors.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: The Lobby Bar @ Ace Hotel
20 West 29th Street
New York, NY 10001
This hotel bar is not for the faint of heart, but definitely for the wild at heart. The Lobby at the Ace Hotel boasts a rock-inspired style, decorated with graffiti art, leather chairs and -- an odd twist -- medical books, perhaps used to diagnose yourself with a hangover after a long night of drinking.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: The Yard @ Soho Grand
310 West Broadway
New York, NY 10001
With no more room for expansion inside the hotel, the SoHo Grand has opened up The Yard. Here you can find the same chic crowd sprinkled with celebrities that you'd find inside, while enjoying an airy outdoor scene.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: The Rooftop Bar @ Empire Hotel
44 West 63rd Street
New York, NY 10023
The 8,000-square-foot lounge on the 12th floor of the Empire Hotel is one of our favorite hotel bars in New York City. Whether you're looking for an upscale happy hour where you can watch the sun set over a beautiful view of Manhattan or you're looking for a special Saturday night destination for some bottle popping with friends, the Empire Hotel Rooftop has it all.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: Plunge @ Gansevoort Park Avenue
420 Park Avenue South
New York, NY 10016
An escape from reality, Plunge at the new Gansevoort Park Avenue features NYC's first indoor/outdoor pool, a vast bar area, and a vibe that combines "uptown classic and downtown cool." This hotel bar is one of the hottest in NYC at the moment, but once its "new" appeal wears off, it's possible that crowds will gravitate elsewhere. We have a feeling that won't be the case for Plunge.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: Rose Bar @ Grammercy Park Hotel
2 Lexington Avenue
New York, NY 10010
If you are not a guest of the hotel, you better be the icing on the cake to get into this lounge. Rose Bar is one of the most breathtaking nightlife destinations in New York City... and we're talking about the decor as well as the patrons. As long as this hotel bar is around it will draw a steady following, whether patrons are looking for a trendy spot or just a beautifully decorated scene.

Best Hotel Bar in NYC: Above Allen @ The Thompson LES
190 Allen Street
New York, NY 10007
The decor is simple and comfortable at Above Allen, leaving it up to a sparkling view of Manhattan to dress up the scene. The crowd here is trendy, which is expected from a hotel bar on the Lower East Side, and although you probably won't run into A-list movie stars here (they're all at Boom Boom Room), you'll likely strike up a conversation with someone just as cool.

God of Peace Wins Out

The Gods of Thunder, Lighting and Rain all paid their respects by stopping by at the very beginning of my “I Am Peaceman” album release party. But they all took a hike halfway through the evening, proving to be no match for the God of Peace who dried up the outside space at the Ink48 Hotel just in time for my guests to see the almost full moon and mystical cloud formations.
Once the weather war was won, people were in such a good mood that no one wanted to leave. The breathtaking view of the city, music, food, lighting, go-go girls and mixed crowd proved to be an intoxicating formula. Plus, I got to break out my new orange peacecape, which fashionistas told me was just perfect for the fall. On top of that, I got to meet some very talented people like actors Federico Castelluccio, Angelica Torn and Luke Zarecki as well as blonde rocker Sebastian Bach.
Mitch, sorry we never made it to your hotel, (the W Downtown) for the afterparty; the U.N. traffic made it impossible. I owe you a party for 300. You know I’m good for it.
Life at best is short. PARTY TILL YOU DIE!
