Probably the largest name in dance music right now, the Swedish House Mafia (Steve Angello, Axwell, and Sebastian Ingrosso) returns to Miami October 30 after headlining Ultra Music Festival back in March. The Masquerade Motel is getting billed as a Halloween event (our first) and is set to take place in Midtown Miami.

Space is to some extent behind the event, which means that it could possibly be planning to stay busy during the club's scheduled "remodel" after Labor Day.

So far only Swedish House Mafia has been confirmed, but supposedly other acts will be contributed. Tickets start at $50 for general admission and go as high as $250 for VIP.

The exception is when the event has to do with fashion or luxury high-end clothing or jewelry items. In such cases, women are much more than men. This was true on the feast of the charity of Gucci at the Pierre Taj Hotel this week. Hundreds of the most elegant women in New York were there in the hope of winning a Gucci bag in the auction, a much lower than retail price. Lucky me, I was invited by Mayi Novoa, a wonderful Peruvian beauty that looks like a cross between Kim Kardashian and Colombian bomb Sofia Vergara. If this were not enough to make me smiling ear to ear, I also was escorting Danielle Staub (star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey), and now star in his own show, social, to be released in November in the network of wealth. Once again, lucky me!

Ingredients
1 1/2 oz. Absinthe (We used Lucid)
3/4 oz. Almond Syrup
1/2 oz. Lime juice
3 or 4 Pitted sour cherries
Sparkling wine or champagne
Grated nutmeg

Preparation
In the bottom of a mixing glass, muddle the sour cherries in the lime juice and almond syrup.  Add absinthe with ice and shake very well.  Strain into a chilled champagne flute.  Top with sparkling wine or champagne. Garnish with grated nutmeg for some added spice.

Goblin Ghoulade is so easy to make that its mind boggling, especially because tart cranberry juice and sweet black raspberry liqueur can make any cocktail look like blood. Ingredients
1 oz. Vodka (We used Finlandia)
1 oz. Black raspberry liqueur (We used Chambord)
1 oz. Roses lime juice
1 oz. Cranberry juice
1 Radish
1 Blueberry

Preparation
Pour all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake. Strain drink into a martini glass. To create the eyeballs, peel 1 radish per glass and leave some red skin to form veins.  Hollow out center of radish and place a small blueberry to form the eye. Serve eyeball floating or on a drink skewer.

Ingredients
1 ½ oz. Chilled vodka (We used Finlandia)
1 ½ oz. Champagne (We used Korbel)
¾ oz. Black Raspberry Liqueur (We used Chambord)
Sugar
Red food coloring
Wax vampire teeth (Optional)

Preparation
Rim a martini glass with sugar dipped in red food color. You can also drop in a set of wax vampire teeth for a real surprise. Pour vodka and half of black raspberry liqueur in martini glass. Top with champagne and pour the remaining black raspberry liqueur over the back of a spoon to make it float.

It’s as easy as pumpkin pie! Best of all, the right rum can unite hints of caramel and vanilla notes with cloves and apple juice, making the Jack-o-Lantern the ultimate Halloween party punch.

Ingredients
2 oz. Rum (We used Flor De Caña 7-year Grand Reserve)
4 Sugar cubes
3 oz. Club soda
2 Whole cloves
1 Pinch of nutmeg
1 oz. Lemon juice
2 oz. Apple juice
Toasted pumpkin seeds
Apple Slices
Cinnamon sticks

Preparation
Dissolve the sugar cubes in 1 oz. of club soda. Muddle the cloves with the sugar cubes. After the sugar cubes and cloves dissolved, add the rest of the ingredients one at a time and stir as added. Then, add ice once all of the ingredients have been added and stirred. After that, stir the punch until it is chilled. Strain the punch into a glass, punch bowl, or carved out pumpkin depending on the size of the portion. Top punch with 2 oz. club soda and garnish with apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and pumpkin seeds.

Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass except Cabernet. Shake with ice and strain over ice in a tall glass. Top with cabernet. Stir before drinking.

Draw a chocolate web into a martini glass. Place in freezer and chill for a ghostly effect. Shake all ingredients and strain into glass.  For a blood effect, drizzle grenadine down the side of the glass. Garnish with a chocolate dipped orange slice.

His sets are closer to live performances. He spins mostly his own material, building tracks on the fly, using cutting edge computer technology, including software he’s helped create himself. “There are no CDs involved,” he explains. “It’s a technological orgy up there and I try and keep it more my music than anyone else’s. If people come out to see Deadmau5 I want them to hear Deadmau5 music.”

It’s an technique that’s catapulted Deadmau5 into dance music’s A-list. It’s no overstatement to say that he’s the most stimulating name in clubland right now. Over the past three years he’s launched a string of club hits, setting off with the trance-house hybrid Faxing Berlin in 2006. It was followed last year by the euphoric filtered keys of Ghosts N Stuff, while this year he arrived at Number 14 with the lush atmospherics of I Remember, his collaboration with American producer Kaskade - the track has now sold over 120,000 copies. This October, Zimmerman releases his new album, For Lack Of A Better Name, which brings together the best of his single releases from the last 12 months. It’s not hard to see why the the pulsing dance groove of Hi Friend! featuring MC Flipside and FML’s military percussion and hard-hitting bass hook continue's to fill dancefloors around the globe. The first single will be a new version of Ghost.
